Lanner Electronics Inc. is a world-leading hardware provider in the design, engineering, and manufacturing services for advanced network appliances and rugged industrial computers. With more than 30 years of hardware manufacturing experience, Lanner provides a wide selection of reliable computing platforms with best-in-class components, quality, and performance.

Lanner creates customized network appliances for client applications with managed manufacturing processes thanks to its in-house design and manufacturing services, covering color of chassis, height, modular or fixed port, BIOS, IPMI, acceleration cards, special certification, and additional I/O interface. Lanner’s building block design concept can fulfill all your requirements.

Amplify your network security appliances, embedded systems, and industrial computers by the installation of an open-source OS with a CLI provided by VyOS. As a result, you get secure, reliable, and centrally managed appliances for Edge Data Centers, Edge Security, network appliances, and much more.

Standard routing protocols (including OSPF and BGP) make an edge router a popular use case for VyOS. Multiple BGP features, including 32-bit ASNs, standard, large, and extended communities, AS override, and more provide excellent interoperability. High availability of VRRP for both IPv4 and IPv6, add your custom health checks and scripts.

Built-in configuration archiving, versioning, and restoration, as well as image-based upgrading improves system management and reliability.

Solution Architecture

Use VyOS to separate networks: your DMZ, Guest and Client Network using zone-based, or addresses-based stateless and stateful built-in firewalls. Supported NAT and NAT helpers for special traffic types.

Build the same VyOS box with a unified interface for every task: setting up a firewall, implementing DHCP, DNS, QoS, VPN gateways, IPv6, or a Proxy-Server for your clients. Forget about "reverse engineering" confusing graphical interfaces or scrubbing through verbose configuration files for a poorly named key. It’s an idea of the direct simplicity that VyOS provides..

Establish Policy-Based-Routing to route your Guest Network to the Internet, based on its source, and avoid the access to internal networks. QoS and policy-based routing allows you to ensure optimal handling of the traffic flow.

Integration of Lanner hardware and VyOS OS delivers complete systems that are ready for end-users. The end product development cycle is supported by providing extensive integration services – from the hardware level to the BIOS/boot code, drivers, APIs, and middleware; operating system and the customer application. Cooperation of Lanner and VyOS allows achieving significant reductions in development costs, integration costs, support costs, and time to market.

Here below are three groups of Lanner appliances with different levels of functionality that have been chosen for testing by VyOS engineers: Entry (basic) Level, Advanced (middle) Level, and Professional Level. The compatibility of VyOS OS with Lanner hardware has been proved by the highest performance on all supported devices.

Choose the appliance according to your business requirements and functionality expectations.
